Closures

  • Closure Canada Day – July 1

    All Ottawa Public Library branches will be closed on Tuesday, July 1 for Canada Day. Regular service will resume on Wednesday, July 2.

  • Temporary Entrance Change - Ruth E. Dickinson Branch

    Construction is underway in the hallway outside the first-floor entrance to the Ruth E. Dickinson Branch and Walter Baker Centre. As a result, you will not be able to use the usual library entrance.

    Access to both the branch and the recreation complex is still available through the entrance on the other side of the building, which leads directly to the branch’s second-floor entrance.

  • Orléans Branch: Parking Lot Repairs Starting July 7

    The Orléans branch parking lot will be repaired and repaved from July 7 until late August. 

    Parts of the parking lot will stay open during the work. 

    Please note: there will be some construction noise during this time.

  • Elevator Out of Service at Main Branch

    The elevator at the Main branch is currently out of service. We apologize for the inconvenience.

     

  • Beaverbrook branch: Digitization Lab Currently Unavailable

    Please note that the Digitization Lab at the Beaverbrook Branch is currently unavailable until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Repairs at Manotick Branch – Starting June 6

    Beginning June 6, ceiling repairs and repainting will take place at the Manotick branch.  

    The branch will remain open during this time, but some collections and public computers may be temporarily unavailable. Manotick Branch will not be accepting payments as of June 13, during Phase 2. The repairs will be complete in early July.

  • Bookmobile: Sarsfield stop will be delayed on June 2

    Modified schedule for Monday June 2 : Sarsfield stop will be delayed. 

  • Our Website is currently undergoing maintenance

    Our website is currently undergoing maintenance and certain pages and forms may be temporarily unavailable. Please contact us if you need help finding information or filling out a form.

  • New air handling unit at Nepean Centrepointe branch    

    Starting in early February 2025 until spring, the Nepean Centrepointe branch will be receiving a new air handling unit. 

    During this period:

    •Some collections will be relocated or temporarily unavailable

    •Second floor meeting rooms may be unavailable

    The branch will stay open during the upgrade, and its services will remain available.
