Ottawa Public Library Stittsville Branch Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Special Event

OTTAWA — Ottawa Public Library (OPL) is excited to announce the 50th anniversary of its Stittsville branch, locatedon1637 Stittsville Main Street, marking its service to the Stittsville community and surrounding area. To celebrate, OPL is hosting a special event filled with activities for all ages, and members of the media are invited to attend from 10:30 am to 4 pm on Saturday, November 23. 

The celebration will begin at 10:30 am with a themed storytime for children. From 11:00 am to 1:30 pm, attendees can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, including face painting, button making, puppet theatre, and games. 

At 2:00 pm, official remarks will commence, featuring a word from the Chair of the Ottawa Public Library Board, Matt Luloff, and Chief Librarian & CEO of OPL, Sonia Bebbington. Following their remarks, guests can enjoy cake and refreshments as part of the celebration. 

The event will conclude with an exciting Rock the Arts Puppet Show, “Superhero Showdown,” at 2:45 pm, a performance that is sure to delight audiences of all ages. 

 

All are welcome to come celebrate with OPL and enjoy a day full of community spirit and reflect on 50 years of community service.
