OTTAWA- Due to necessary roof and rooftop unit replacements, the Alta Vista branch of Ottawa Public Library will close temporarily starting Monday, June 3 for approximately six weeks. The reopening date will be announced as soon as possible as construction proceeds.
OPL will offer select services during the closure, at the Jim Durrell Recreation Centre (JDRC), located at 1265 Walkley Road. This temporary location is accessible by light rail train (LRT), major bus routes, and includes ample parking.

Monday to Thursday: 10 am- 8:30 pm
Friday: 1 pm – 6 pm
Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
Sunday: Closed
Library programming such as babytime and family storytime will continue to be offered in Ellwood Hall at the Recreation Centre. Dates and times for these events will be available on the OPL website.
