Vanier branch closure August 31
Vanier branch will be closed for planned power system work on August 31. The branch is expected to reopen on Tuesday, September 1. Holds will be extended by 2 days. The book return slot will be closed until the branch reopens. Visit a nearby OPL branch or use our online resources anytime.
Reduction of Parking Spaces at Vanier Branch
From the end of March to December 2026, a City project will temporarily reduce the number of parking spots at the Vanier branch. Visitors are encouraged to use street parking or nearby alternatives.
Aside from construction noise and limited parking, the Vanier branch’s operations will continue as usual. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
About the Branch
Surrounded by beautiful mature maple trees, the Vanier branch is housed in a two-storey heritage building. Serving the area's mainly francophone community with friendly, efficient service, the Vanier branch offers complete library service to the community. This branch has Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association (FOPLA) used books sales.
